As active fundraisers ourselves, NMW.O is acutely aware of the myriad of challenges fundraising presents for organizations located in rural and low-income communities and communities of color. That is why NewMexicoWomen.Org and New Mexico Community Foundation are excited to award 14 scholarships to the Grassroots Institute for Fundraising Training’s (GIFT) Money for our Movements conference in August 2016.
GIFT is a multiracial organization that promotes the connection between fundraising, social justice and movement-building. GIFT believes how groups are funded is as important to achieving their goals as how the money is spent and that building community support is central to long-term, social change. The conference, Money for our Movements, is two and a half days of learning, community building and strategizing to sustain movements for the long haul. The opening keynote will be by Allen Kwabena Frimpong, one of the organizers of Black Lives Matter in New York City and a philanthropic strategist and capacity-builder.
NMW.O is proud to support the GIFT conference and invest in the ecosystem of financial resiliency for organizations serving women and girls across New Mexico. We are thrilled to award scholarships to the following organizations:
El Morro Valley Cooperative (McKinley County)
