Earlier this month, our Executive Director, Sarah Ghiorse, participated in the White House Gender Policy Council, at the invitation of our partners at the Women’s Funding Network. The Council shared their priorities and then heard from women’s fund leaders from around the country about the need to reimagine the nation’s broken childcare system, focus on women’s economic mobility, and invest in the leadership of girls and young women of color. Sarah offered specific insights about issues impacting self-identifying women and girls in New Mexico. This first meeting with the Council was a testament to the power of our collective voice as a gender justice funding movement that is working to combine philanthropic resources with strategic advocacy to catalyze lasting change for self-identifying women and their families.
