NewMexicoWomen.Org and New Mexico Community Foundation are excited to announce that NewMexicoWomen.Org has been awarded a multi-year grant from The David and Lucile Packard Foundation. We extend our sincerest thanks to Packard Foundation for Taking a Stand for New Mexico’s women and girls by investing in the work of NewMexicoWomen.Org!

This grant will go towards NewMexicoWomen.Org’s strategic programming in the area of health equity and its relation to economic security for women and girls. The goals of the work are to:

Strengthen the movement through partnering with organizations working on health equity and economic security in New Mexico who are led by, or primarily serve low-income, rural communities and women and girls-of-color;

Serve as a hub and a voice by using our role as a statewide fund to raise the profiles and amplify the efforts of those working at the grassroots level around health equity and economic security; and

Increase philanthropic investment in organizations and groups working on health equity and economic security for women and girls in New Mexico.

Support from Packard will allow us to strengthen our commitment to the organizing, education and advocacy efforts of the many powerful community-based groups with whom we partner.

Packard’s contribution is also a testament to those who support our work and have done so since the inception of NewMexicoWomen.Org in 2012. Each $5, $50 or $100 gift has helped us grow. With this gift, along with contributions from individuals around the state, we are over half way to our goal of raising $1.04 million – one dollar for every woman and girl in New Mexico. We honor these contributions, however big or small. We know that the meaning and potency of a gift is far greater than simply its dollar amount, and that ultimately, it is our local community who will sustain us in the long term.

Thank you for your continued support and for all that YOU do on behalf of women and girls in New Mexico!
