In April, we launched our Gender Equity Emergency Fund (GEEF), and to date, we have distributed $173,000 in grants to organizations across New Mexico.

GEEF grants support a range of community efforts statewide, including distributing culturally relevant food, delivering water on the Navajo Nation, offering free Spanish language COVID-19 testing for uninsured and undocumented women, employing immigrant and refugee women to make industrial grade personal protection equipment, and providing a health focused virtual learning series led by and centering Black women.

Funds are also being used to develop public health messaging in the Navajo language, help Latinx youth grow food at home, provide shelter to survivors of domestic violence, offer socio-emotional support to girls and young women of color, procure at-home pregnancy and prenatal care for low income women, offer ongoing reproductive health services, offer legal counsel, and much, much more.
