NMW.O would like to thank all of the organizations and individuals who attended the NewMexicoWomen.Org Community Conversation yesterday at Highlands University in Las Vegas. A special thanks to HU-CARES and the San Miguel County Family and Community Health Council for co-hosting.
Yesterday’s Conversation was the first in a series of events that NMW.O will be hosting through out the state over the next six months. What a great start in Las Vegas! There was a successful turn-out, with nearly three times the amount of people in attendance than expected. The level of depth, insight and wisdom that was generated in the room was inspiring.
As a statewide community foundation, it is our responsibility to listen to the voices of the communities we serve and amplify those voices through our programs and strategies. To that end, NMW.O is committed to cultivating relationships with those serving women and girls in San Miguel County. We will continue to do follow-up work around the findings from the Conversation in order to share them with the wider community.
To all those who attended, or hoped to, thank you for the work you are doing in your community, and for taking a stand for New Mexico’s women and girls!
