“I am Taking a Stand for New Mexico women and girls so that they can dream about achieving great things, experience the beauty and wonder of our environment, learn skills that will enable them to turn those dreams into reality, develop healthy lifestyles, and overcome obstacles. My dream is that women and girls in New Mexico will have the unique opportunity to experience success in what they dream.
One way to achieve that success is to take a wilderness course with The National Outdoor Leadership School. There they will learn to become leaders, respect our environment, achieve the unimaginable, and apply what they have learned to future challenges. I have been moved by hearing of the life changing experiences described by girls from Girls Inc. who have completed a NOLS course. NOLS graduates finish high school at higher rates than non graduates, develop a strong sense of self and are positioned for success in life. By experiencing a NOLS course, young women and girls of New Mexico will indeed succeed in turning their dreams into reality.” –Caroline Burnett
